Moving this thread to General since it's about more than just HS.

This is one of my favorite threads on Super Walrus Land, too; I just can't do much to contribute to it.

I would be interested to see specific stat breakdowns at the beginning of each month about the previous month's issue. That would help writers get an idea what people want to read.

Would also be nice (if the records are still available) to see the stats for the older issues.

Generally there's not much of a difference in numbers between articles, unless it's a specific article that's linked to from another site. For example, the review we have of Missing STILL gets a couple dozens unique views per month, while most older content gets hardly any.

I'm glad people enjoy this, because I find numbers fun to look through. As long as I know someone's reading I'll keep doing it.

As an experiment to reach out PAST the OHR community, I've posted the individual pictures from the last issue of Villainology to my art-dump site, see how many unique hits/views each one gets. Each one also has a description link back to Hamsterspeak. I'll update this post at the end of the week just to see how often people then follow through to read the articles. This is mostly to satisfy my own curiosity, and find out how effective off-site linking is helping boost readership of Hamsterspeak.

Broaste - 151 Views
Button - 89 Views
Billy - 39 Views
Dr Mu - 51 Views
Slither - 68 Views
Cthulhu - 15 Views
Gahn - 39 Views
Kezef - 42 Views
Horace - 26 Views

These should register as 520 total hits over a one-day period. They're listed in order they've been posted, about 30 minutes apart each. That may explain some slight skewing towards the top of the list, but it should even out by end-week. I'm actually surprised Slither has generated as many unique hits as it has.

Five days, time to count up views. Surlaw, if you'd be willing to dump some core Hamsterspeak viewing stats, that'll be great.

Broaste - 182
Button - 101
Billy - 41
Dr Mu - 62
Slither - 99
Cthulhu- 20
Gahn - 45
Kezef - 60
Horace -32

642 total views. Now, if someone can show us whether readership increased?

My server only counted 56 unique users who clicked your links and came to the site, and it looks like most of them viewed Monsterology and nothing else.

Search phrases!

We are STILL getting people who come here searching for some variation of "mega man 9 flashlight things" every month. I don't understand why anyone would search for this anywhere.

One person searched for "from the kansas river crossing it is 83 miles."

One searched for "walrus chat group." I hope they like what they found.

First update in over half a year, and guess what was in this month's search history?

"what are the flashlights for in mega man 9"

AGAIN.

Other stats: Just like 2009, May was our busiest month, with 2084 users. This is down from 2009's 2325, but we had 1657 this June, as opposed to 2009's 1401.

Our current number one referrer:
http://hamsterrepublic.com/ohrrpgce/ind ... hics_.html

I guess that means we should have more sprite packs!

In case anyone asks again and finds this:

The "flashlights" are screws, the game's currency. You spend them in the store.

It took me a minute to figure out what "flashlight" was supposed to refer to.

Ha HA! This is totally my fault! But come on! They look way more like flashlights than screws!
